1. Halloween Costume Contest--We do it every year. We have both kid and adult categories. Here's how it works. Make an appointment. Come in dressed in your Halloween costume. We photograph you for a few minutes in one of our indoor or outside Halloween sets. You pick your favorite 2 images from that Session and let me know. Sessions are FREE, by the way. Then, we post everyone's 2 favorite images in a Voting Gallery on Halloween Day, on Facebook. Everyone "votes", by liking their favorite images. At the end of a week, we count the votes, and the top 3 photos win. You can also get prints of your kids/yourself at great prices, but no purchase necessary to play and to win. There are TWO sets of prizes--one for children, and one for adults.
This begins October 5th. Start making appointments NOW.
2. ArtSpa Classes--every Wednesday from 2-8pm. These are art classes held in our Creative Lair. I open up the Lair, set up the tables, and we do projects. In October, we will be doing magical Garden Gazing Balls on October 5th. October 12th will be Concrete Leaf Pendants. Projects for the weeks following include Haunted Horseshoes, and Mirror Mosaic Spiderwebs. I will also have my children's books for sale (and there are a couple Halloween ones) as well as Halloween postcards and greeting cards, perhaps some spooky jewelry I have made as well. It's going to be lots of fun, and you can do the projects I've listed above, OR, you can do a painting, some drawing, complete a wood medallion, a silk scarf, a handmade blank book, a gazing ball.....SO MANY THINGS you can make! Plus, I have it on good authority that we will have some yummy treats, such as homemade cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate during our Wednesday hours. Please try to stop by, see the space, and enjoy the Haunted Garden, even if you don't want to do an art piece at that time.
3. Children's Coloring Contest--Along with my children's books, I have lots of haunting Halloween Coloring Pages. When you bring your children for their Halloween Photos, I will give you some coloring pages to complete. If you are local, you can drop them by, and if you are not, you can put them in the mail to me, or even take a well-lit, in focus image of your colored page and post it to my Facebook Page. On Halloween, I will have an independent judge view all the pages and award prizes, like a complimentary 30 minute Session! This is really worth getting in on, so make sure you get your kids some coloring pages!
4. Haunting Photography--This is something I've wanted to try for awhile. I'm not going to take these photos--YOU ARE. Take your spookiest photograph, upload it to my Facebook Page, and on Halloween Day, we will have an independent judge award a complimentary 45 minute Waubonsie Session! And the subject matter is open to interpretation. It has to be well-shot, and "haunting". Get to it, peeps!
