Anna's Book...

Every Session gets a Book.  This is true.  I believe in tangible THINGS.  Digital images are ephemeral enough as it is, dependent upon hardware and currents of electrons and LED screens.  I take all these grand pictures, and they get displayed on a screen in a Gallery.  Pull the plug and they disappear from view.  But a BOOK of images, printed on archival paper, mounted in either a hardbound library style book, or a simpler hardback spiral book with a canvas dust jacket--that is something I can sink my teeth into by the beam of a battery-powered flashlight when all of society has crashed because of an enormous electromagnetic pulse from the sun and there is no electricity to be found ANYWHERE ON EARTH.

Okay.  I'm being dramatic.  A little bit.  Maybe.

But I do love books.  So I include them with my Sessions.  They are physical, they are real, they are important.  They are expressions of my photos as I prefer to see them--photographs as storytellers.  Ever since I read my first picture books as a child, my chewed fingernail following under the words as I sounded them out, I've loved books with pictures.  In fact, I WRITE books with pictures, which you can learn about HERE.  So, I decided to include a Book with each Session, made up of my customer's favorite poses.  And here is a sample.

Each picture collage above is a page from Anna's Book.  I believe that all together, the images form a story of her life, at least of where she is right now, her interests, and a sliver of her personality shines through.  The Book of images is more than just the sum of the photos printed inside.  It is an encapsulation.  More books to come.
